Marin Academy College Profile Redesign
Project Goal:
To redesign the Marin Academy College Profile to a more modern, sophisticated look.
The Old Design:
What I liked about this design:
It uses Maring Academy’s colors
It fits all the necessary information
The last page brings everything back to Maring Academy as a whole
The use of a student/teacher photo on the third page
What I didn’t like about this design:
The first page feels blocky—like it was puzzle-pieced together
The second page’s spacing is inconsistent
On the third page, reading the text vertically makes it harder to read
I like the fourth page, but there is an unnecessarily large empty space in the blue
Design References:
What I liked about this design:
The border on the first page dividing the contacts from the text
The use of an image of the school next to the text about the school
The rounded corners and white dividers of the curriculum schedule
The simplicity of the final page
What I didn’t like about this design:
The headers were nearly indistinguishable from the text. Only the green color makes them noticeable
The curriculum schedule is difficult to follow
Feels very corporate and formal
My Design:
Key Points:
The first page is more organized and cohesive, with an apparent left and right section and a footer. More graphics help visually guide the reader without overwhelming them with text.
The second page utilizes containers with curved corners to visually separate different subjects.
The third page uses wide paragraphs and slight contrast in background color to improve legibility and separate programs. It also includes images relevant to that program displayed next to the text.
Final page removes the awkward blue space, and utilizes the five core value icons to bridge the transition into the different color.
